After a few other attempts, like MTT-S European Wireless 98 and European Wireless 99, EuMA decided in 1999 to organize the European Conference on Wireless technology (EuWiT) as part of the European Microwave Week (EuMW) in cooperation with the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S). The first event of this series was held in Paris, October 2000.
