Purpose

The European Conference on Wireless Technology (first ECWT, now EuWiT) is a forum for the presentation and discussion of new developments in the field of wireless communication technologies.

It encompasses system design, antennas, propagation, analogue and digital signal processing techniques and high frequency circuits for wireless systems. EuWiT also includes application-specific integrated circuits and modules. Accurate modelling of systems, components and the development of new techniques and applications are key to the rapid and effective deployment of new wireless products and systems. The technical challenges of higher data rates and improved spectral efficiency must be met whilst simultaneously satisfying the commercial challenges of low cost and high volume production.

This conference is an integral part of European Microwave Week. Accordingly, along with the key areas of wireless activity, the microwave aspects of wireless communication will be emphasised, and there will be common sessions covering subjects of mutual interest.

Calls for Papers usually mention: technology, components and subsystems for wireless communication; system concepts; antennas and propagation; applications; and electromagnetic effects. The EuMA appoints a Conference Organizing Committee, COC, for the EuWiT at least eighteen months before the conference is to be held. This Committee, with oversight provided by EuMA, has the basic accountability for the conference operations of a single calendar year conference. It is responsible for the conference operations and consists of a Chairman, Technical Programme Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer in so far as possible representing the country in which the EuWiT is to be held.
