Standing and Adhoc Committees
To improve its efficiency in conducting business, EuMA has decided to establish Standing Committees.At the EuMW 2000 Paris, it was agreed to establish an Awards Committee to consider the portfolio of EuMC prizes and the development of new prizes.For the year 2008, the Awards Committee comprises P.-A. Rolland, Chair, K. Beilenhoff, A. Madjar, J. Modelski, T. Ohira, and R. A. Sparks. Early 2001, it was agreed to establish a Finance Committee. For the year 2008, it comprises A. Vander Vorst, Chair, A. Räisänen and P.-A. Rolland. For the same year, the BoD has appointed P.-A. Rolland as internal auditor. At the EuMW 2001, London, it was agreed to establish an Industrial Liaison Committee, now comprising H. Daembkes, Chair, J.-L. Cazaux and L.P. Ligthart. Simultaneously, it was agreed to establish a Long Range Planning Committee, comprising the members of the BoD and chaired by the President of EuMA. In April 2004, an Executive Committee has been established for the daily operation of the Association. As of October 1, 2005, it has the following membership: President (R. Sorrentino), Assistant to the President (E. Fratticcioli), Secretary/Treasurer (A. Vander Vorst), Deputy Secretary/Treasurer (D. Vanhoenacker), Honorary Secretary (A.F. Wilson), and Headquarters Assistant (A. Van Nieuwerburgh). In October 2005, a Publications Committee was created to oversee, promote, and disseminate the publications of EuMA, with the following members: R. Sorrentino, Chair, R. Quéré, P.-A. Rolland, P. Russer, D. Vanhoenacker (vice treasurer), J. L. B. Walker (Editor, EuMA Newsletter), R. Weigel (Editor, EuMA Proceedings), A. F. Wilson (Editor, EuMA Newsletter), A. Vander Vorst (treasurer, invited). There are also several Adhoc Committees, with duties limited in time. In 2005, there has been an Adhoc Committee on the EuMA Proceedings (R. Sorrentino, Chair). In 2006, there was one on Reviewing Complimentary and Reduced EuMW fees (A. Vander Vorst, Chair). In 2008, there is an Adhoc Committee on a Archival DVD, archiving all the papers published in the EuMC Proceedings, 2004 - 2008 (A. Vander Vorst, Chair).  |
