Awards
EuMA is proud to acknowledge those individuals who have given exceptional contributions to the microwave community. EuMA has established two awards. The Distinguished Service Award was established in 2004 to "recognize an individual who has given outstanding service for the benefit of the European microwave community and, in particular , for the advancement of the European Microwave Association". The Outstanding Career Award was established in 2008, to recognize an individual "whose career has exemplified outstanding achievements in the field of Microwaves". Both awards consist of a bronze medal carrying the name of the award and the name of the recipient. The EuMA Distinguished Service Award has been conferred successively to Prof. Fred Gardiol in 2004, to Prof. Peter Clarricoats in 2005, to Prof. Tibor Berceli in 2006, to Prof. Erik Kollberg in 2007, to Prof. Leo Ligthart in 2008, and to Prof. Peter Russer in 2009. The EuMA Outstanding Career Award has been conferred to Prof. Hans Hartnagel in 2008 and to Prof. Tatsuo Itoh in 2009. All EuMA members are welcome to nominate exceptional individuals within the microwave field for the Distinguished Service Award and the Outstanding Career Award. A nomination should include a short statement describing how this individual is exceptional and the nominee's CV. Nominations should be submitted to the Awards Committee. ![]() |
