After a few other attempts, like MTT-S European Wireless 98 and European Wireless 99, both included in the European Microwave Week (EuMW), EuMA decided in 1999 to organize the two-day European Conference on Wireless technology (first ECWT, now EuWiT) in cooperation with the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) as part of the European Microwave Week.
The general purpose of the EuWiT is to advance the understanding and application of the microwave aspects of wireless communications including systems concepts, components, circuits and subsystems, associated wireless antennas and propagation and related electromagnetic effects. The first event of this series was held in Paris, October 2000.
Eu
MA appoints a Conference Organizing Committee. This Committee, with oversight provided by Eu
MA, has the basic accountability for the conference operations of a single calendar year EuWiT. It is responsible for the conference operations and consists of a Chairman, Technical Programme Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer in so far as possible representing the country in which the EuWiT is to be held.
