A significant change was introduced in 1997 when the Management Committee (MC) created a Steering Committee (StC) to operate with more stability.

A further development came from the decision of the MC to insert the EuMC into a European Microwave Week, EuMW. As a consequence, contacts were established with other entities and individuals in view of cooperation, and the EuMA decided to reduce the duration of the EuMC from four to three days to offer time slots to other Conferences.

At first, there were two conferences organized in conjunction with the European Microwave Conference: the GAAS Symposium and the European Conference on Wireless Technologies EuWiT. Starting 2004, however, one more Conference is organized in the frame of EuMW: the European Radar Conference (EuRAD). This brings to four the number of Conferences organized during the EuMW, with associated workshops, short courses, and focused sessions. Since 2006, the GAAS Conference has evolved into The European Microwave Integrated Circuits (EuMIC) Conference.

As a result, the organization of the EuMW has become rather complex. This is the reason why detailed Guidelines have been issued by EuMA to ensure a smooth organization and management of the event. They are at the disposal of the officers in charge of any part of the EuMW.

A EuMW Steering Committee has been set up in 2006 to oversee the various Conference committees and assure consistency in operations from year to year. It is composed of Regular Members and Invited Members. Apart from the EuMA President, the former represent the various conferences held during the EuMW.

At the EuMW, members of EuMA, GAAS, IET, and IEEE pay reduced fees. Strongly reduced fees are offered for students as well as for senior persons aged 65 years or more.

Furthermore, the EuMA provides 20 student grants of 500 € plus the reduced registration fee for a Conference. It also provides 20 grants of 500 € plus the reduced registration fee for a Conference for delegates coming from NIS countries or Russia.

The site http://www.eumweek.com of each EuMW publishes specific information on Visa Requests, depending on the specific organizing country. Such information can be found in the Section devoted to Visitor Information. A valid passport may be required for entry into the organizing countries. Since these countries are all in the European Union, no visa is usually required for travellers with passports from a number of countries, like for instance: European Union, United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia or Singapore. Visa may possibly be required for travellers from other countries. For more information on this, please have a look at http://www.eumweek.com. If you need a visa, you normally have to check with the Embassy of the organizing country in your own country, at least 3 to 4 months prior to the EuMW. There is most probably an associated web site where you can obtain the correct information. The European Microwave Association will usually grant permission to reproduce papers, from the European Microwave Week, European Microwave Conference, European Conference on Wireless technologies, European Radar Conference or elsewhere, or extracts from papers, including illustrations and diagrams.
