EuMW 2010
EuMW continues its series of successful events with the 13th European Microwave Week 2010 which will be held at the CNIT la Défense, Paris, France from 26 September to 1 October 2010. The French exhibition and conference centre is easy to access with good transportation from Paris airports and RER-Métro stations. This event gathers all the international microwave community around four thematic conferences:
EuMC – European Microwave Conference
EuMIC – European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference
EuWIT – European Wireless Technology Conference
EuRAD – European Radar Conference
The four conferences encompass a wide range of subject areas including: microwave, millimetre-wave and submillimetre-wave systems; antennas and propagation; wireless technologies; telecommunications (RF, microwave and optical); ICs, semiconductor materials and packaging; radar architectures, systems and subsystems; sensors and remote systems; test and measurement.
In addition to the conferences, the attendees will have the opportunity to attend workshops and a programme of tailored short courses and seminars, as well as the European Microwave Exhibition which constitutes the largest trade show on RF and microwaves in Europe. Exhibitor workshops and seminars will be provided by several top organisations with superior expertise in microwave, RF, wireless or radar.
The event focuses on the needs of engineers and researchers and provides an invaluable opportunity for both academia and commerce to consider the latest trends and developments that are widening the field of application of microwaves. Visit the EuMW2010 website for more information.
EuMA Topical Groups
The EuMA Topical Group on RF MEMS, based on the AMICOM community, was launched formally in early 2010. The Group has arranged an International Summer School in Padova, and an International Symposium in Otranto, Italy.
EuMA International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies
The new International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies was launched by Cambridge University Press in association with EuMA in 2009. The Journal is printed in 6 issues per year under the editorship of Professor Raymond Quéré. Electronic access to the Journal is free to active EuMA members.
Change of President
Professor Wolfgang Heinrich became President of the European Microwave Association on 1 January 2010, in succession to the retiring President, Professor Roberto Sorrentino. Professor Heinrich is the chairman of the EuMA General Assembly and the Board of Directors.
European Microwave Lecturers
EuMA recently announced an agreement with IEEE MTT-S, expanding the Speakers Bureau with a new category: European Microwave Lecturers (EML). The programme was launched with an initial panel of 3 distinguished lecturers. It is expected to encourage community networking and promote microwave engineering to EuMA and MTT members.
Proceedings of the EuMA
The Proceedings of the European Microwave Association were published by the EuMA from 2005 to 2008. This Journal has now been succeeded by the International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies. Past volumes (all issues of one year) of the Proceedings of the EuMA are available to EuMA members and libraries free-of-charge, in return for a nominal payment to cover shipping costs.
Archival DVD
Archival DVDs have been published by EuMA which include all papers presented at European Microwave Conferences from 1969 to 2008. Papers can be searched by Title, Author, Year, and key-word.
