Tom Brazil was renowned not only as a leading thinker and a driver of research but also as someone who readily sought to treat you as a friend. He was that all-rounder combination of teacher and mentor, scientific researcher, and contributor to society nationally and internationally.

Through the Tom Brazil Fellowship Award, the GAAS association, in cooperation with the European Microwave Association (EuMA), wants to give bright and encouraging students in our field a voice to discuss their vision of upcoming developments. Of course, these predictions are more vague than those of distinguished professors.

Still, we think enabling our students to talk about such visions is a good idea!
