DESIGN OF INTERMEDIATE-BANDWIDTH DIELECTRIC RESONATOR FILTERS
A. Abramowicz, J. Modelski
DESIGN OF INTERMEDIATE-BANDWIDTH DIELECTRIC RESONATOR FILTERS Adam Abramowicz., Jozef Modelski" ABSTRACT The method of the design of the intermediate-bandwidth dielectric resonator bandpass filters is presented. The results of the analysis of the coupling and mechanical tuning structures are discussed. The realizations of the trial X-band filters with 6% bandwidth are described.
NOVEL IMPLEMENTATION OF BROADBAND DETECTOR
T. McConnell
NOVEL IMPLEMENTATION OF BROADBAND DETECTOR T McCONNELL ABSTRACT A new design and implementation of a diode based broadband detector module operating in excess of 40 GHz is presented. To accommodate the broadband nature, the external interface is coaxial while coplanar waveguide is used as the internal microwave transmission medium. A high performance coax to coplanar transition is incorporated i
ANALYSIS OF AN N-WAY RADIAL WAVEGUIDE DIVIDER/COMBINER
M.E. Bialkowski, V.P. Waris
ANALYSIS OF AN N-W AY RADIAL WAVEGUIDE DIVIDER/COMBINER Marek E.Bialkowski *, Vesa P.Waris ** ABSTRACT Two novel methods for the analysis of a radial waveguide power divider/combiner incorporating probes are presented. Based on these methods, computer algorithms for investigating the operation of the device are developed. The application of the developed algorithms is demonstrated in a design ex
THE SEPTUM VPD
R. Mizzoni, W. Steffe, L. Accatino, S. Badessi
THE SEPTUM VPD(l) Roberto MIZZONI(2) , Walter STEFFE(2), Luciano ACCA TINO(3) , Stefano BADESSI(4) . ABSTRACT A novel broadband, low loss, medium/high power variable power divider (VPD) is proposed. It consists of a polarization rotator followed by a septum polarizer in cascade with a 3 dB hybrid. This VPD can be collocated in between the two classical topologies based on the two hybrid/two variab
A MULTISECTION BROADBAND IMPEDANCE TRANSFORMING BRANCHLINE QUAD HYBRID SUITABLE FOR MMIC REALIZATION
S. Kumar, T. Danshin
A Multisection Broadband Impedance Transforming Branchline Quad Hybrid Suitable for MMIC Realization Surinder ABSTRACT Kumar*, Tom Danshin* A two section impedance transforming branchline hybrid is reported. Such a hybrid is a very useful component for microwave monolithic integrated circuit implementation of a variety of circuits. It is shown that such a hybrid can be optimized to yield a wid
INTRODUCING RADIO-WAVE PROPAGATION WITH HYPERCARD
R. Crampagne, M. Hélier, W. Tabbara
INTRODUCING RADIO-WAVE PROPAGATION WITH HYPERCARD * ' R. Crampagne 'M. He1ler** , W. Tabb ara*** ' ABSTRACT An educational software developed for the introduction to radio-wave propagation is presented. Based on the HyperCard authoring system, the software is designed around the modelization of a classical radio or microwave link. Used in a continuing education program, organized for technic
COMPUTER AIDED EXPERIMENTS AND TEACHING IN ANTENNA DESIGN
N. Caillère,Y. Duflot, G. Landrac, S. Toutain
COMPUTER AIDED EXPERIMENTS AND TEACHING IN ANTENNA DESIGN N. Caillere - Y. Duflot - G. Landrac - S. Toutain " ABSTRACT: A pedagogical project has been carried out in a telecommunication engineering school to make the students catch basic concepts in antenna analysis and design. An analysis of the difficulties of the students by the teaching staff has led to the design of an experiment associated
INTRODUCING STUDENTS TO NEAR-FIELD ANTENNA MEASUREMENTS
J.-Y. Gautier, M. Hélier, D. Picard, A. Rekiouak
INTRODUCING STUDENTS TO NEAR-FIELD ANTENNA MEASUREMENTS J.-Y. Gautier. , M. Helier**, D. Picard**, A. Rekiouak*** ABSTRACT A near-field antenna measurement set-up dedicated to teaching is presented. The experiment serves the purpose of introducing students to difficulties associated with such a measurement technique. Using a combination of the Helmholtz equation and the Fourier Transform, t
MICROWAVE EDUCATION FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF SUBSYSTEM ENGINEERING
A. Asensio, C. Feijóo, F. Pérez
MICROWAVE ENGINEERING EDUCATION FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF SUBSYSTEM A. Asensio, C. Feijoo, F. Perezl ABSTRACT Recent trends in microwave engineering show that the education approach from the point of view of subsystems is better orientated to the practical implementation of systems. A tool was developed based on this idea for postgraduate education in microwaves and for the analysis and
