OPTIMISATION OF PULSED SINGLE DRIFT IMPATT DIODES FOR MM-WAVES
R. Pierzina, J. Freyer
Optimisation of Pulsed Single Drift Impatt Diodes for rom-Waves R. Pierzina and J. Freyer * Abstract: The paper describes the fabrication of beam-lead Impatt diodes for reproducible packaging. Matching of device and resonator is shown theoretically as well as experimentally. Peak pulse output power of more than 10 W at 70 GHz could be realised from optimised single-drift diodes.

ON THE PROSPECTS FOR MILLIMETRE WAVE ANALOGUE PHASE LOCKED FREQUENCY DIVISION VIA BIFURCATION TO CHAOS IN NON-LINEAR SYSTEMS D.J. oJ.t;n.'.t;KIES* ABSTRACT In a system which is sufficiently non-linear there is frequently a route to chaos involving successive period doublings in the response to a sinusoidal drive, as the amplitude of the drive is increased in relation to the non-linearity. Examp

OPTIMUM DESIGN OF CW 94 GHz Si DDR IMPATT SOURCES C. DALLE*, A. DERYCKE * G. LLETI**, D. GORAL **, P.A. ROLLAND*,** ABSTRACT This paper describes a theoretical and experimental approach to design optimum high power high efficiency CW IMPATT sources in the 94 GHz window. Particular emphasis is placed on junction temperature rise in order to achieve reliable high power operation. Secund order p

ON CIRCUITS WITH COUPLED THICK MICROSTRIPS Arne Brejning Dalby. * ABSTRACT A method for calculation af coupled thick microstrip parameters is presented. The method is employed in analysisand synthesis procedures (programs) for circuits with multiple coupled strips with arbitrary dimensions on arbitrary isotropic substrates. It is thus possible to analyze and synthesize e.g. interdigital micro
THE EFFICIENT CALCULATION OF HIGH ORDER SHIELDED MICROSTRIP MODES FOR USE IN DISCONTINUITY PROBLEMS

THE EFFICIENT CALCULATION PROBLEMS OF HIGH ORDER SHIELDED MICROSTRIP MODES FOR USE IN DISCONTINUITY Mr. C. J. Railton, Prof. T. Rozzi, Mr. J. Kot * ABSTRACT Previously published results for the higher order modes of microstrip have been restricted to few modes whereas for the analysis of discontinuities many modes must be taken into account. A method of obtaining the propagation coef
LOSSES IN MICROSTRIP RADIAL STUBS
F. Giannini, C. Paoloni, J. Vrba
LOSSES IN MICROSTRIP RADIAL F. Giannini ( 1), C. Paoloni (1), J. Vrba ~2) STUBS ABSTRACT The growing importance of radial stub as a circuital element request an improvement in its analysis. In this paper a theorical model based on a planar approach, has been improved with the introduction of the effect of the losses. The determination of the Q-factors of the different TMon modes sustained by th

A NEW METHOD FOR TRANSIENT LINES. ANALYSIS OF DISCONTINUOUS COUPLED T. Razban * , C. Monllor * , P. Vincensini * ABSTRACT: Time domain analysis of discontinuous methods applied to continuous ones. coupled lines is derived from existing This analysis is implemented by decomposing any set of partially coupled discontinuous lines into "tubes". A tube of order N being constituted by N uniformly co
CHARACTERISATION OF UNILATERAL FINLINE MODE SPECTRUM INCLUDING LOSS ANALYSIS
C. A. Olley, T. Rozzi
CHARACTERISATION ANALYSIS OF UNILATERAL FINLINE MODE SPECTRUM INCLUDING LOSS Mr. C. A. Olley and Professor T. Rozzi * ABSTRACT Finline and E-plane structures in general have lent themselves well to millimetric circuits applications as a transmission media compatible with device integration. Theoretical analyses of Finline have mainly been concerned with the fundamental mode with little
