HIGH EFFICIENCY, 4 WATT C BAND POWER AMPLIFIER S.Marcillaud, Thomson Composants FAX number: G.Montoriol, P .Chaumas Microondes, R.D.128-B.P.46, 91401 ORSAY, FRANCE, 33-1-60-19-79-95 ABSTRACf. This paper describes the design and performances monolithic C Band amplifier. of a high efficiency and high power The power performance on a whole wafer was measured under pulsed drain bias and RF condit
HIGH-EFFICIENCY ONE WATT MMIC AMPLIFIER FOR THE 6-18 GHZ BAND
D. Raicu, D.S. Day, J.R. Basset
HIGH-EFFICIENCY ONE WATT MMIC AMPLIFIER FOR THE 6-18 GHZ BAND D. Raicu*, D.S. Day*, J.R. Basset* ABSTRACT Design and performance of a 30 dBm high-efficiency MMIC amplifier module for 6-18 GHz are presented. It consists of a single MMIC, comprising two FETs, their interstage circuit and elements for input pre-matching, which is embedded between off-chip input and output hybrid matching circuits.
OPERATION OF Ku-BAND POWER MODULES
M. Gat, D.S. Day, C. Hua, J.R. Basset
OPERATION OF Ku-BAND POWER MODULES M. Gat, D. S. Day, Chang Hua, and J. R. Basset * ABSTRACT Three Ku-band MBE monolithic power modules have been developed. The modules consist of one, two and five MMICs. A newly developed MMIC which is used in the modules is a two stage power amplifier which contains full interstage matching network and partial input matching network. The single MMIC module de
A COMPARISON BETWEEN AN ABSOLUTE PHOTOACOUSTIC POWER METER AND A BREWSTER ANGLE VERSION FOR NEAR MILLIMETRE WAVES IN FREE SPACE
D.G. Moss, J.R. Birch, D.H. Martin
A COMPARISON BETWEEN AN ABSOLUTE PHOTOACOUSTIC POWER METER AND A BREWSTER ANGLE VERSION FOR NEAR MILLIMETRE WAVES IN FREE SPACE D.G.Moss., J.R.Birch. and D.H.Martin.. ABSTRACT The results of a comparison between absolute and non-absolute versions of a photoacoustic power meter for near millimetre waves in free space are presented. The absolute meter has been used to calibrate the non-absolut
ALL SOLID-STATE RADIOMETER AT 557 GHz

ALL SOLID-STATE RADIOMETER AT 557 GHz Rl1digf.:'r-: Radiometer Ralp11 and PetJ:T Zirnrnennann Physics Company GmbH 15, K-5309 Germany ~eckenheim BergerKiesenstr. ABSTRi\CT An all solid-state radiometer is described, for detetcting the 557 GHz transition of the water molecule in galactic molecular clouds. The radiometer will be mounted in a such high units altit ude for different balloo
AN OPEN STRUCTURE 600 GHz MIXER WITH BROADBAND IF OUTPUT COUPLING
J. Brune
An Open Structure 600 GHz Mixer with Broadband IF Output Coupling J. Brune * Abstract A quasi-optical broadband Schottky-diode mixer for submillimeter wavelengths has been realized. In comparision to former approaches emphasis has been laid on the design of the RF choke structure in order to increase the bandwidth of the IF output coupling. An optimization of the mixer has been carried out
MEASUREMENTS OF A WAVEGUIDE SCHOTTKY-BARRIER MIXER AT 690 GHZ
N. Keen, G. Ediss
MEASUREMENTS OF A WAVEGUIDE Nigel SCHOTTKY-BARRIER MIXER Ediss AT 690 GHZ Keen and Geoffrey ~ax-Planck-Institut fUr Radioastronomie, Bonn ABSTRACT First measurements of a waveguide mixer with a Schottkybarrier diode are presented, at a local oscillator frequency of 692 GHz. The pyramidal horn is integrated into the mixerblock, with field patterns in good agreement eith theoretical predictio
DEVELOPMENT OF A 750GHz SOLID SOURCE
B.N. Lyons, T.E. O'Ciardha, U.S. Lidholm, B.L.A. Rydberg
ABSTRACf The selection submillimetre 750GHz of an appropriate multiplier configuration and diode mount for a solid state source are discussed. Initial results are presented for the second stage of the multiplier which suggest that the specifications of 50 µ at W can be achieved.
RIGUROUS ANALYSIS OF NON-RECIPROCAL SLOW-WAVE PLANAR TRANSMISSION LINES
F. Mesa, R. Marqués, M. Horno
RIGUROUS ANALYSIS. TRANSMISSION LINES OF NON-RECIPROCAL SLOW-WAVE PLANAR F. Mesa, R. Marques, M. Horno 1 ABSTRACT Slow-wave transmission lines have been proposed in the literature to reduce the size of microwave interconnections in MMIC's. On the other hand, the use of gyromagnetic substrates enables the development of non-reciprocal devices. The planar trasmission lines analysed in this wo
THE EFFECT OF MITERING ON CPW DISCONTINUITIES
N.I. Dib, P.B. Katehi
THE EFFECT OF MITERING DISCONTINUITIES ON CPW N. I. Dib and P. B. Katehi University of Michigan, 3228 EECS Building, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-2122, USA AB.S.TRAQT The effect of mitering on coplanar waveguide (CPW) discontinuities is studied using a full wave space domain integral equation method which is discussed briefly. Preliminary results for a mitered CPW open-end are presented. The discretizati
