MODULAR SOURCE-TYPE 3D ANALYSIS OF SCATTERING PARAMETERS FOR GENERAL DISCONTINUITIES, COMPONENTS AND COUPLING EFFECTS IN (M)MICs
R. H. Jansen, W. Wertgen
MODULAR SOURCE-TYPE 3D ANALYSIS OF SCATTERING DISCONTINUITIES, COMPONENTS AND COUPLING EFFECTS PARAMETERS IN (M)MICs FOR GENERAL Rolf H. Jansen * and Werner Wertgen ** ABSTRACT A deterministic full-wave solution to the hybrid-mode characterisation of basic and non-elementary structures in (M)MICs is described. It is modular, not restricted to a few specific shapes and involves surface wave
S-BAND GaAs MONOLITHIC LINEAR DUAL PHASE MODULATOR
M. Levent-Villegas, M. Soulard, C. Villalon
S-BAND GaAs MONOLITHIC LINEAR DUAL PHASE MODULATOR Martine Abstract Monolithic 2-3 GHz linear dual phase modulators, have been with a 0.8 µm GaAs MMIC process. A 40 dB carrier rejection has been measured which demonstrates the feasability of direct modulation with a transmission gain of about 5 dB. fabricated LEVENT-VILLEGAS, Michel SOULARD, Claudine VILLALON
A GRADED MESH FD-TD ALGORITHM FOR EIGENVALUE PROBLEMS
D. H. Choi, W. J. R. Hoefer
A GRADED MESH FD-TD ALGORITHM Dennis H. Choi and Wolfgang J. R. Hoefer FOR EIGENVALUE PROBLEMS ABSTRACT This paper describes the realization of a graded mesh for the FD-TD algorithm, and its application to three-dimensional eigenvalue problems. Eigenfrequencies of resonant structures can be obtained via Fourier transform exactly as with the uniform mesh FD-TD algorithm. However, the graded mesh
A CURVED ANISOTROPIC WAVEGUIDE: VARIATIONAL STUDY OF A NONSTANDARD EIGENPROBLEM
M. I. Oksanen, I. V. Lindell
A CURVED ANISOTROPIC EIGENPROBLEM WAVEGUIDE: VARIATIONAL STUDY OF A NONSTANDARD MARKKU I. ABSTRACT OKSANEN, ISMO V. LINDELL* A new variational functional is introduced for the analysis of curved open and closed waveguides. The method does not set any restriction s to the shape of the waveguide or to the radius of the bend. The dielectric function can be homogenous or nonhomogenous with tran
NONPERIODIC SOLID-PLASMA BACKWARD WAVE STRUCTURE
V. I. Miteva, K. P. Ivanov
NONPERIODIC SOLID-PLASMA BACKWARD WAVE STRUCTURE V.I. Miteva and K.P. Ivanov* ABSTRACT The propagation characteristics of an azimuthally magnetized solid-plasma circular guide are studied analytically and numerically. Families of design curves for millimeter control components, employing the nonreciprocal phase shifting and magnetically dependent cutoff, experienced by the higher-order TM61 mode
SCATTERING BY A PERIODIC ROUGH SURFACE
C. Eftimiu
SCATTERING BY A PERIODIC ROUGH SURFACE C. Eftimiu* ABSTRACT A formulation of the scattering of electromagnetic waves by a rough conducting surface which is periodic on the average is presented. The periodicity is treated exactly, and the roughness is treated by perturbation theory. The second-order correction due to roughness is determined for the far-field radiation modes.
MULTISPECTRAL MICROWAVE RADIOMETRIC SYSTEM FOR BIOLOGICAL TEMPERATURE RETRIEVAL: EXPERIMENTAL TESTS
F. Bardati, G. Calamai, M. Mongiardo, B. Paolone, D. Solimini, P.Tognolatti
MULTISPECTRAL MICROWAVE RADIOMETRIC SYSTEM EXPERIMENTAL TESTS FOR BIOLOGICAL TEMPERATURE RETRIEVAL: F.Bardati', G. Calamai-, K. D. Solimini', P. Tognolatti' Kongiardo', B. Paolone-', ABSTRACT This paper reports on experimental tests of a four-channel microwave radiometer for thermal pattern retrieval in biological tissues. Two-dimensional temperature distributions have been reconstructed
MICROWAVE THERMAL IMAGING BY RADIOMETRY
A. Mamouni, B. Bocquet, J. C. Van De Velde, Y. Leroy
MICROWAVE THERMAL IMAGING BY RADIOMETRY A. MAMOUNI, B. BOCQUET, J.C. ABSTRACT VAN DE VELDE, Y. LEROY Microwave radiometry appears to be well suited for treating thermological investigations devoted to moderately deep seated tissues. These investigations are used in diagnosis and follow up methods (for example in the detection of thermogen tissues, or inflammations such as those consecutive to

MICROWAVES fOR THE fRASCATI TOKAMAK UPGRADE
R. Andreani, G. Falciasecca, F. Mirizzi, M. Sassi
MICROWAVES fOR THE FRASCATI TOKAMAK UPGRADE R. Andreani*, G. Falciasecca**, F. Mirizzi*, M. Sassi* ABSTRACT The Frascati Tokamak Upgrade netic confinement of nuclear (FTU) [1] is a toroidal machine for the magplasmas included in the European Program of Controlled Nuclear Fusion, coordinated by EURATOM. IT is mainly conceived to investigate the heating of high density, long confinement time,
