DOPPLER EFFECT FROM A TRANSMITTER IN TRANSLATIONAL MOTION
D. De Zutter
DOPPLER EFFECT FROM A TRANSMITTER IN TRANSLATIONAL MOTION D. De Zutter * ABSTRACT !he signal received at a ground station from a source in translational motion is investigated. The analysis is relativistically correct. Attention is focussed on the spectrum of the incoming signal. When receiver and transmitter are permanently activated, the spectrum is band-limited and shows two infinite peaks.
AN EXPERIMENTAL ADAPTIVE ARRAY FOR RADAR APPLICATIONS
P.J. Baldwin, E. Denison, S.F. O'Connor
AN EXPERIMENTAL ADAPTIVE ARRAY FOR RADAR APPLICATIONS by P J BALDWIN, E DENISON, S F O'CONNOR ABSTRACT This paper concerns an experimental adaptive array facility at ASWE. The array operates at X-band and comprises a linear arrangement of 8 dipoles spaced approximately 0.6 A apart. The signal processor is an analogue implementation of a simple gradient-descent algorithm operating at an IF o
MIC POWER COMBINERS FOR FET AMPLIFIERS
J.P. Quine, J.G. McMullen, H.W. Prather
MIC POWER COMBINERS FOR FET AMPLIFIERS J.P. Quine*, J.G. McMullen*, H.W. Prather t ABSTRACT A matched six-way MIC radial waveguide combiner operating in a half-wave mode is described. A second configuration is matched by high impedance quarter-wavelength lines with bandwidth increased through the use of shunting half-wavelength lines.
WAVEGUIDES FOR MICROWAVE INTEGRATED CIRCUITS
J.H. Hinken
WAVEGUIDES FOR MICROWAVE INTEGRATED CIRCUITS Johann H. Hinken ABSTRACT A new integrated fabrication process for microwave circuits is presented basing on waveguides as transmission lines. On principle they are dielectric filled waveguides of about semicircular cross-section. They are manufactured by warming up a thermo-plastic dielectric rectangular strip on a metal plate until it begins to
M.I.C. TECHNOLOGY ON FUSED SILICA SUBSTRATE: Ku BAND TRANSPONDER APPLICATION
M. Goloubkoff, C. Thebault
M.I.C. TECHNOLOGY ON FUSED SILICA SUBSTRATE: Ku BAND TRANSPONDER APPLICATION M. GOLOUBKOFF - C. THEBAULT ABSTRACT Circuits on alumina substrate suffer from electrical length reduction, this is a reason for choosing fused silica substrate with a lower dielec~ tric constant. Organic dielectrics are generally not compatible with active device mounting in chip form as needed for mixers or amp
THIN FILM TRANSFER COMPONENTS FOR CHEAP MICs
E.H. England
THIN FILM TRANSFER COMPONENTS FOR CHEAP MICs E. H. England* ABSTRACT A solution to the problem of pattern definition, which sometimes exists in the production of cheap MICs, is described. The process (l) involves the transfer of high definition, thin film style, component patterns from a carrier to the main substrate. The concept allows common substrates to be tailored to individual requirements
2 GHZ MIC FRONT END DESIGNED FOR A MICROWAVE RADIO RELAY LINK
K. Otremba
2 GHZ MIC FRONT END DESIGNED FOR A MICROWAVE RADIO RELAY LINK Klaus Otremba ABSTRACT A low-noise 2 GHz front end has been developed, consisting of MIC isolator, RF preamplifier, SSB downconverter and conventional IF preamplifier. An overall 3 dB SSB noise figure and 12 % RF bandwidth has been achieved. The RF preamplifier, using a bipolar transistor, exhibits a noise figure of 2.2 dB and has ab
IMPORTANCE OF HARMONIC TERMINATIONS IN PERFORMANCES OF A CLASS-C UHF TRANSISTOR POWER AMPLIFIER
A. Azizi, S.R. Mazumder, F.E. Gardiol
IMPORTANCE OF HARMONIC TERMINATIONS TRANSISTOR AtaoUah POWER AMPLIFIER IN PERFORMANCES OF A CLASS-C UHF AzA..zi.., Sha.m6uJt R. MazumdVt and Flte.d E. GaltcUol ABSTRACT The influence of 2nd harmonic on the performances of an UHF class-C transistor power amplifier was determined. A matching circuit was designed, in which the reactive impedance termination presented at the second harmonic can be
COMPARATIVE STUDY OF BIPOLAR, FET AND GUNN X BAND OSCILLATORS
M. Fache, M. Quentel
COMPARATIVE STUDY OF BIPOLAR, FET AND GUNN X BAND OSCILLATORS M. FACHE - M. QUENTEL ABSTRACT Solid state oscillators are widely used in microwave are becoming more and more hard to please especially and spectral purity are concerned. The progress recently accomplished in the development sistors with a maximum oscillation frequency greater us to consider the realization of bipolar transistor eq
COMPUTER-AIDED PULL-IN RANGE INVESTIGATION OF MICROWAVE PLL
P. Hasan, F. Jelínek, A. Kuchar
COMPUTER-AIDED PULL-IN RANGE INVESTIGATION OF MICROWAVE PLL P. Hasan, F. 0elinek, A. Kuchar ABSTRACT An important parameter which characterizes the dynamic behaviour of the phase-lock loop is its pull-in range This quantity is highly affected, especially at microwave frequency bands, by the transportation lag inherently present in the loop. A nonlinear model of the phase-lock loop has been us
